Dear Me,

I promise you that the utter hopelessness, the emptiness you feel, WILL DISSOLVE AND NO LONGER CAUSE YOU PAIN.

Ending the misery

Dear Robin,

How long have you been staring at that handle? Outside, the road rushes by. It’s cold. And dark. The handle beckons. The thought comes: Just open the door. Open it, fall out, and end this misery.

I know that right now, you feel like you’ll never be happy again. The fighting, these family problems—it seems like you can’t escape. Humanity seems fractured and cold—separate people who can’t figure out how to work together or live together in harmony.

You’ll find it as you turn to the purest love of all, God’s love, and start to lean on it as you never have before. No matter what anyone else does, and no matter what you do or how you feel, His infinite love will never change. This is your time to discover that. Don’t pass up this opportunity to feel loved, deeply loved, by your real Father-Mother.

I promise you that the utter hopelessness, the emptiness you feel, will dissolve and no longer cause you pain. The light, the tiny pinprick of light that finally makes you turn away from that car door handle, away from the thought of “permanent” escape, will grow until it completely replaces the darkness.

The path may not be an easy one, but it will be worth it. You’ve already taken the first step by turning away from the blackness that threatened to engulf you forever. And step by step after that, you’ll find the peace and joy and strength that have always been part of who you are.
